Why I built this
Built to settle one argument
The real reason I built this: my wife and I could never agree on where to eat or what to watch. Every night turned into the same "I don't know, you pick" — so I built something to settle it for us. Everyone swipes on the same options, privately, and whoever agrees the most wins. No more back-and-forth.
It worked so well that I realized this is a problem basically every group has — roommates, friends, family trips — so I extended this to handle friend groups as well, up to 10 people at once, not just couples.
Built with Claude Code and shipped through GitHub, running on Supabase with real-time sync, and wired up with PostHog to see how people actually use it. Next up: expanding beyond movies and restaurants to TV shows, vacations, and more — plus getting SyncUp onto the App Store and Google Play.
